TimberTown was founded on March 11, 1981.
We operate 3
warehouse style stores in Calgary and one each in Edmonton and Canmore.
Our distribution centre is located in Calgary. We have gainfully
employed people in Alberta since 1981, and thanks to focused and
skilled employees, we are one of the few retail companies that remains
closed on Sundays and statutory holidays.
Our customer base includes home builders, industrial shops, general
contractors, renovators and retail walk-ins. Each of our stores
employs a carpenter with a fully equipped Cut Shop room for pre-hanging
doors and other mill work.
TimberTown purchases many items direct from the manufacturer in
order to pass the savings on to our customers. We represent the
finest hardwood flooring mills in Canada, the U.S.A. and around
the world. All stores
are authorized dealers of a national buying group called TIM-BR
Mart .
OUR STRENGTHS
Our most important strength is the diverse range of talents our
employees possess. TimberTown's employees generally work smarter
and are paid much higher than the industry average.
We also have a state of the art Computer System to help us efficiently
run our stores and control every aspect of the business. These efficiencies
allow us to remain competitive and provide a price break to our
customers.
We have developed an Operating Manual that covers every aspect of
our business within the TimberTown system. Once again this creates
efficiency and helps with loss prevention which allows us to stay
in an increasingly competitive industry.
